On June 20th, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced that the first independently developed offshore oil and gas completion tool "Smart Factory" has been put into operation in Tianjin, marking the comprehensive intelligentization of China's high-end offshore completion tool manufacturing industry. This is of great significance for improving the production efficiency of complex structured oil and gas fields, shortening the construction time of oil and gas fields, and extending the life of oil and gas field exploitation.

Completion is the final stage of drilling operations and a key engineering technology to ensure the smooth flow of oil and gas out of underground rock formations and transportation to the surface for collection. Completion tools can establish a reasonable communication channel between the oil and gas reservoir and the wellhead of the oil and gas well at the bottom of the well based on the geological characteristics of the oil and gas reservoir, ensuring smooth oil and gas channels underground and achieving safe and efficient production of oil and gas fields.

The "Smart Factory" built this time is located in Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone, which is the first intelligent and flexible assembly base for well completion tool manufacturing in China's oil and gas industry. After production, it will be used for the intelligent production of "Haihong" well completion tools.

Haihong "is a high-end completion system independently developed by CNOOC, which ensures smooth flow of oil and gas extraction. Haihong has overcome a number of key core technologies such as special rubber materials, high-pressure airtight structures, and reliability of extreme environmental tools, promoting the realization of new manufacturing, new products, and new services, which can cover all completion technology needs of offshore oil and gas fields. It has been industrialized in domestic offshore oil and gas reservoirs, as well as overseas regions such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North America, and Central Asia, and its product technical indicators have reached the international advanced level.

In the process of heavy oil extraction in the Bohai Sea, the "Haihong" completion tool has withstood 8 cycles of cold and hot alternation in a high temperature and high pressure environment of 350 degrees Celsius and 21 megapascals. The product performance is reliable and the application effect is excellent. Liu Baosheng, General Manager of the Engineering Technology Operation Center of CNOOC Tianjin Branch, introduced that the production of the "Haihong" smart factory for well completion tools can significantly enhance the independent industrial capabilities of high-end well completion tools, effectively ensuring the high-quality development of complex oil and gas reservoirs such as deep water, high temperature and high pressure.

Completion tools have the characteristics of high reliability requirements for long-term underground work, diverse application scenarios, and multiple customized demands, which seriously restrict the industrial development of high-end completion tools. China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) has independently designed and built various production specific machines through years of manufacturing process technology accumulation. At the same time, it has customized and developed hundreds or thousands of automated operation programs, creating a smart factory for well completion tools towards new quality. It integrates multiple cutting-edge technologies such as heavy-duty high-precision positioning, multi-dimensional sensor fusion, and visual recognition automatic capture, which can meet the automation and customized production of various well completion tool products.
